Product Description

The main feature of G40 chrome steel balls is its high hardness. The material we use is high carbon chromium bearing steel, with a Rockwell hardness of up to HRC60-65. It has strong wear resistance and pressure resistance, and can withstand high pressure and impact at work.

Product Advantages

1. Powerful performance: G40 chrome steel balls have high hardness, and the density of 7.8g/cm3 helps to balance hardness, toughness, inertia, and stable performance.

2. Economic and durable: These chrome steel balls is suitable for high-load application environments, has a long service life, and is affordable at the factory, with high cost performance.

3. Wide adaptability: Although G40 chrome steel balls are mainly used in bearing accessories, they are not limited to this application. They can also be used in parts and grinding applications in other industries.

What kind of surface treatment do bearing steel balls receive?

Bearing steel balls, also known as chrome steel balls, have a shiny surface. Is this electroplated chrome?

What is electroplated chrome? It's a common surface treatment method that deposits a layer of chromium on the metal surface to improve surface hardness, wear resistance, corrosion resistance, and aesthetics. Chromium is a very hard metal, so the chrome plating also possesses high hardness and durability.

So, are bearing steel balls electroplated with chrome? Actually, most bearing steel balls are not. Although the name might mislead you into thinking they are chrome-plated, the surface treatment of bearing steel balls is typically abrasive grinding with abrasive fluid to achieve a hardened and shiny surface. This treatment increases the hardness and wear resistance of the bearing steel balls, while also improving their physical properties, further extending their service life and corrosion resistance. However, it differs from electroplated chrome.

Of course, some bearing steel balls are electroplated with chrome. However, this treatment is not for aesthetic reasons, but to meet specific application requirements. For example, in some machinery requiring high precision and high speed, bearing steel balls require enhanced wear and corrosion resistance. To meet these application requirements, electrochromium plating can be used to increase surface hardness and durability, thereby significantly improving performance and service life.

Not all bearing steel balls are electrochromized. Choosing the appropriate surface treatment and material depends on the specific application and performance requirements.
