The processing technology of stainless steel balls varies according to the raw materials, steel ball specifications, precision grade and production conditions, but the basic processing process is roughly the same, usually including the following types:
(1) Small steel balls (φ3~10mm)
Cold heading → polishing → heat treatment → surface strengthening treatment → hard grinding → initial grinding → fine grinding 1 → fine grinding 2
(2) Small and medium-sized steel balls (φ10~~16mm)
Cold heading → polishing → heat treatment → surface strengthening treatment → hard grinding → initial grinding → fine grinding 1 → fine grinding 2
(3) Medium and large steel balls (φ16~~28mm)
Cold (hot) heading or hot rolling → annealing (for hot heading or hot rolling) → polishing → heat treatment → surface strengthening treatment → hard grinding → Initial grinding - Fine grinding 1 - Fine grinding 2
(4) Large steel balls (φ28~50mm)
Material heating - Hot upsetting or hot rolling - Annealing - Polishing - Heat treatment - Surface strengthening treatment - Hard grinding - Initial grinding - Fine grinding 1 - Fine grinding 2
(5) Extra large steel balls (φ50~φ80mm)
Material heating - Hot cutting - Heating - Hot upsetting - Annealing - Turning and banding - Polishing - Heat treatment - Hard grinding - Initial grinding - Fine grinding 1 - Fine grinding 2
(6) Extra large steel balls (φ80-φ120mm or more)
Material heating - Hot upsetting (forging) - Annealing - Turning and banding - Soft grinding (single grain) - Heat treatment - Hard grinding (single grain) - Initial grinding
