Carbon steel balls, bearing steel balls, stainless steel balls, copper balls, aluminum balls, ceramic balls, tungsten steel balls are all commonly used in our industrial production process. Different materials have different properties. Today, Kangda Steel Balls will summarize and list the main material grades they are produced with in a concise language:
Carbon steel ball material grades: Q195/1010, Q235/1015, 1045, 1065, 1085. In practical demand, low-carbon steel balls are mainly used, that is, 1010 and 1015
Bearing steel ball material grade: GCr15/AISI52100/100Cr6/SUJ2, GCr9, GCr15SiMn. In practical demand, GCr15 bearing balls are the most common. AISI52100/100Cr6/SUJ2 are the names used in the United States/Germany/Japan respectively, and their material compositions are similar.
Stainless steel ball material grades: 201, 204, 304, 316, 316L, 420, 420C, 440, 440C. Among them, the 200 series contains less nickel, has poorer rust resistance, but is cheaper; the 300 series contains high nickel, has good rust resistance, but low hardness; the 400 series contains chromium and nickel, has certain rust resistance, high hardness. Especially 440 is called special steel, with high hardness and good rust resistance, which can be said to combine the advantages of 300 series and bearing balls. Of course, the price is also relatively high, and it can be called the noble of steel balls.
Ceramic ball material grades include :Si3N4 (silicon nitride), ZrO2 (zirconia), SiC (silicon carbide), and AL2O3 (aluminum oxide). In recent years, these ceramic balls have been applied more and more due to their inherent high hardness, low density, light weight, wear resistance, pressure resistance, high temperature resistance, self-lubrication, rust prevention, and corrosion resistance, which are not possessed by many metal balls. Processing them is relatively difficult and the price is also higher. It is believed that the application fields will be broader in the future.
Copper ball material grades: H62/H65 brass, T2/T3 purple copper. These copper balls have low hardness, good electrical conductivity, rust resistance and corrosion resistance, high price, and have certain applications in some fields;
Aluminum ball material grade: 1060 pure aluminum ball. This type of ball has low hardness and good rust resistance, and has certain applications in the hardware field;
Tungsten steel ball material grades: YG6, YG8. This material is called hard alloy, which has high density, high hardness, wear resistance, pressure resistance, rust prevention, and corrosion resistance. It can replace metal balls in areas where metal balls cannot be applied, of course, at a relatively high price.
